Statistics: Russia’s July LNG output falls by 12% to 2.2 mln tns
MOSCOW, Aug 17 (PRIME) -- Russia cut production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) by 11.6% on the year but rose 8.9% on the month to 2.2 million tonnes in July, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement late on Monday.
“Output of liquefied gas reached 2.2 million tonnes in July, an 8.9% increase as compared with the previous month, but an 11.6% fall from July 2019. The LNG production showed growth as compared with the same months of the previous year from January through May 2020, but output of this product has been falling since June of this year,” the service said.
In January–July, LNG production rose by 4.5% to 17.6 million tonnes.
Natural gas production decreased by 11.4% to 335 billion cubic meters (bcm) in January–July, including about 41 bcm in July, down 11.4% on the year and but up 2.5% on the month.
The output of associated petroleum gas went up 1.5% on the year to 7.5 bcm in July and 3.4% to 55.7 bcm in January–July.
